French and German Cuisine
Artisan Bistro
We also enjoyed the Artisan Foie Gras Terrine, toasted brioche, balsamic, kumquat and red grape carpaccio which was delicious. Definitely have the Steamed PEI Mussels with spicy fried garlic, tomatoes, parsley, shallots, sherry. It had an excellent broth.

Bardot Brasserie
French Bistro Cuisine at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas
We love Las Vegas, French Bistros and Michael Mina restaurants, so the odds were 100 to 1 that we would dine at Bardot Brasserie, while we were staying at The Aria.

The French Poodle-Restaurant Francais in Carmel by the Sea

The French Poodle
We are very fortunate to live in the Bay Area and be able to easily visit Carmel by the Sea as it is only about a two hour drive. The upscale town is great for Shopping and Dining and the views of the Pacific Ocean are fantastic.

Garcon!
We knew that we had to try the French Onion Soup made with Gruyere, a little Cajun spice and croutons. It was divine! The Beet Salad with endive, watercress goat cheese fondue, crispy shallots and sherry vinaigrette was refreshing and one of our favorites.
La Bicyclette
We always enjoy our trips to Carmel to dine, shop and walk on the beach. Our favorite lunch spot has always been Casanova Restaurant which serves country French & Italian Cuisine, has a World Class Wine Cellar including 10 vintages of Opus One and serves the most fantastic Spinach Gnocchi which we crave!

La Provence Cuisine Soleil
For a Main Course you’ll enjoy the Soupe de Poissons Canebiere, which is a homemade soup of clams, shrimp, codfish, scallops, and anglerfish perfumed with saffron, tarragon with “rouille” crouton. It had an excellent broth and inspired us to make a similar dish at home.

Laurus Restaurant
We have always enjoyed going to Blackhawk Plaza in Danville to dine and shop but had not been there in well over a year. We knew there were some new restaurants, so we decided that since it was overcast and 60 degrees in the City a ride to where it was warm would be very welcome.
You can also tell how good a French bistro is by way they prepare Mussels. Here they lived up to our expectations, they were perfectly cooked and the broth of wine, butter and garlic was fabulous. The entrée that we loved was the Filet of Beef Rossini topped with Foie Gras and Truffle Oil.

Their A La Carte menu created by Executive Chef Joe Villanueva features contemporary twists on traditional Vietnamese French Cuisine.
