Steak Houses
Alexander’s Steakhouse
The ever changing San Francisco dining scene continues to amaze us. Just when we thought that there were enough quality Steak Houses, Restaurateur JC Chen and Executive Chef Jeffrey Stout raise the bar by opening Alexander’s Steakhouse, which is an American steakhouse with Japanese influences.
Atlantis Steakhouse- Reno’s Finest Dining
We rarely have the opportunity to go to Reno but are always pleasantly surprised by how well we can dine and how much fun we can have! The Atlantis Casino & Resort is only a few miles from Downtown and has a superb Steakhouse which has been open for five years and draws both locals and tourists alike.
Bob's Steak and Chop House
The Main Attractions, of course are the Steaks. Our favorite was the Prime Filet Mignon. This fabulous filet was perfectly prepared medium rare as ordered. It was served with a huge glazed carrot and Skillet fried potatoes topped with sautéed onions and peppercorn gravy.
bourbon
Bourbon & Beef -Latin Inspired Kitchen in Rockridge
Bourbon & Beef is the newest restaurant in the Rockridge District in Oakland which has always been known for great food. They serve Latin inspired meat focused cuisine prepared with seasonal, locally sourced, sustainable and organic ingredients. Executive Chef/Restaurateur Munther Massarweh born in El Salvador to Jordanian parents and raised in San Francisco brings a lifetime of culinary experience
Brandos
The big favorite was the Oysters Rockefeller, which were a true taste sensation! The oysters were centered on the shell in a light hollandaise sauce and broiled until they were golden brown with spinach, grated parmesan cheese and freshly chopped parsley. This was a fantastic beginning to our meal.
Capo
Capo’s Italian Steakhouse & Speakeasy
We love Las Vegas and were quite pleased to find great drinks and cuisine on a recent visit both on and off the Strip. We had a fun and truly unique dining experience with one of our best pals off the Strip on W. Sahara at Capo’s Italian Steakhouse & Speakeasy.
Cattlemans
We had the 18 oz. Cattlemens Cut, which was really thick and wonderfully juicy. It was definitely the best we’ve had recently and stacks up very favorably with the great Prime Rib we have enjoyed at The House of Prime Rib in San Francisco.
Chandlers Prime Steaks & Seafood
We always enjoy going out to dinner on Sunday Night as it is generally not as crowded, gives you something to look forward to and lengthens your weekend. We had heard that Chandlers Prime Steaks & Seafood in Downtown Boise was offering a Prix Fixe three course Prime Rib Dinner for only $27.00 and knew we’d better check it out.
Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse
New Orleans’s is definitely back as we could see from the crowds around the French Quarter on the Tuesday night before Fat Tuesday. We decided to dine at Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse where we were in good company as there was a full house in both the restaurant and bar area including some local celebrities like Mayor Ray Nagin.
Ditka’s Restaurant-Chicago
It is impossible to think of the Chicago sports scene without hearing the named Ditka. Mike Ditka, NFL Hall of Famer, feared tight end and Da Coach of Da 1985 World Champion Bears is a Chicago hero and legend. His popular downtown restaurant and bar was packed on the Thursday night that we dined there.
Empire
Empire Steak House
The Empire Steak House which seats 200 was able to offer us a reservation at 8:00 PM. The reviews were good so we took cabs to Midtown and were ready to dine. The Restaurateurs are the Sinanag Brothers who had worked at Peter Luger SteakHouse in Brooklyn for twenty years before being able to realize their dream of opening their own steakhouse.
The Epic Roasthouse
which has been open for just over a year now has great steaks and offers even more! Restaurateur Pat Kuleto, Chef Jan Birnbaum and Managing Partner Pete Sittnick have assembled a winning team in this fabulous location which was built for more than $10 million.

Espetus -Churrascaria
Authentic Brazilian Steakhouse

All the meat is served spiced and cooked on skewers over an open fire and immediately brought tableside and carved directly onto diner’s plates by the well-trained carvers who were festively attired in authentic Gaucho outfits. You have a tabletop indicator which alerts the Carvers who continue to visit every table if you want more or not.

Espetus Churrascaria San Mateo
Dining on the Peninsula just got better with the addition of the new stylish Brazilian Steakhouse called Espetus Churrascaria San Mateo. It was recently opened by Grill Master/ Owner Paulo Kleinwho is a native of Novo Humburgo, Brazil, his wife Maris Klein and their partners Eli and Val Nascimento.
Harris’
The San Francisco Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant
Harris’ on Van Ness Avenue has gained a reputation as an institution since 1984 where you can find anything from Mid-Western Corn Fed 21 –Day Dry-Aged Steak to fantastic Maine Lobster.
House of Prime Rib
The House of Prime Rib is famous for carving your Roast Prime Rib of Beef, to your specifications from a unique stainless steel serving cart at your table. Over 150,000 meals are served each year with the happy diners eating over 225,000 pounds of the best Prime Rib you’ve ever tasted!
L.A. Prime
We have roots in both Los Angeles and New York so the logical place to dine in Los Angeles would be a New York Steakhouse. Add to that, we were staying at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel downtown there was no better choice then go up the enclosed glass elevator from our comfortable 29 th floor room to L.A. Prime on the 35 th floor.
LB Steak
We were pleased to hear that Restaurateur Roland Passot had recently opened LB Steak MenloPark to serve the Peninsula, as we had enjoyed many fabulous meals at his LB Steak SantanaRow in San Jose. Opening a restaurant these days is generally considered risky business. Even the best business people know that they must be on their game with the right location, menu, execution and chef to be successful.
  Osso
Osso Steakhouse- Sophisticated San Francisco Dining.
It is always exciting to see a new sophisticated restaurant open in San Francisco especially a Steakhouse that features 4-6 week Dry Aged Prime Beef Bone-In (Osso) Steaks. Osso Steakhouse whichrecently opened on Nob Hill in Gramercy Towers has both an elegant Art Deco interior and a lovely view of Grace Cathedral and the California Street Cable Cars.

Pappas Bros. Steakhouse
A recent business trip brought me to Houston where I had only one night to dine on my own. I asked a friend who travels constantly and is very knowledgeable about restaurants where I should dine in Houston ? He quickly said you MUST go to Pappas Bros. which is a Classic Steakhouse that has been open for over 60 years serving excellent steaks.
  park city
Dining in Park City, Utah
We love to take short weekend get-a-ways and had never been to Park City, Utah and decided it was time to go. The winter snow had receded and the spring weather was just perfect. Park City is a resort destination nestled in the mountains just outside of Salt Lake and the scenery is truly spectacular reminding us of the Alps!

Seared Steak & Seafood-Petaluma’s Premier Steakhouse
Petaluma’s Historic 165 year old Wickersham Building on Petaluma Boulevard North has started a new chapter in its long storied history. It has housed restaurants, retail shops, banks, storage facilities and some say it was once a Speakeasy. We are big fans of Steak Houses and when we heard that local Petaluma residents Ken O’Donnell, Jeff Inglin and Kent Armbright had opened Seared Steak & Seafood we knew we had to see what it was all about.

Sparks Steak House
We always love to dine at classic Steak Houses. The concept is simple, a great steak and a bottle of Cabernet. Sparks Steak House in New YorkCity was established almost fifty year ago and has been pleasing steak lovers at the current location since 1977.
